The Clean Air Champions League project combines
the universal appeal of football with the critical environmental challenge of air pollution. At its core, it's an innovative approach to raising awareness and fostering community action towards cleaner air across Europe.
The project aims to utilise the sport's infrastructure, fan base, and community ties to engage a wide audience in air quality initiatives and promote environmental sustainability and health.
This league is built on three pillars that turn commitment into action.
Air Quality Monitors:
We strategically situate air quality monitoring stations near football stadiums to gather crucial data, sparking awareness and action.
The League Table:
The introduction of a league system where football clubs compete based on local air quality records is a novel approach. This incentivises environmental engagement and fosters a healthy rivalry among clubs.
Community Education:
The project aims to turn football venues into hubs for environmental education and action, fostering community-driven engagement through educational programs.
These clubs and foundations are pioneers.
They've stepped up to lead this groundbreaking initiative, showing what's possible when the power of sport is used for a greater purpose.
